Linda
Hi, my name is Linda, I was finally diagnosed with Heds at 54. This diagnosis makes sense of many years of health issues, chronic pain, prolapsed discs, prolapsed bowel, unstable joints, ligaments, muscles, pelvic floor, and connective tissues. I lack spatial awareness; I have chronic fatigue and have chronic gastrointestinal issues.
Heds has a massive impact on my mental health. I have bursitis in both hips, pain and inflamed joints in my sit bones and shoulders.
It has taken over 15 years of assessments with neurology, rheumatology, and orthopaedic specialists to rule out other causes. I have had MRI scans, various medications, injections, acupuncture, splints, supports and physiotherapy, none of which have helped.
After my diagnosis I have been trying to educate myself about Heds and find the information and support I have gotten from the EDS UK website and Facebook group invaluable. Hence why I want to volunteer and hopefully help others.
