Give in their memory

Remembering and celebrating the life of someone you’ve lost can be a powerful way to honour their legacy and the impact they had on your life. By choosing to do this through EDS UK, you’ll help improve the lives of people living with EDS and HSD.

Create a lasting tribute

A Tribute Fund is a special online space where family and friends can celebrate and remember a loved one. Share memories, photos and messages, light virtual candles, and create a lasting legacy that can always be revisited.

You can also invite donations in their memory, helping to support a cause close to their heart. The fund can remain open for as long as you wish, allowing you to mark anniversaries and other important milestones.

Funeral details can be included too, making it easy to share information and offer the option to donate in lieu of flowers.

Funeral Collections

Thank you for considering a funeral collection in memory of your loved one, perhaps in place of flowers. We understand this can be a difficult time, and our In Memory team is here to support you. If you'd like to talk through your options or have any questions, please contact us.

EDS UK partners with MuchLoved to help families and friends create online tribute funds in memory of someone special. A tribute fund can include funeral details, serve as a funeral notice, and provide a place for people to leave messages and make donations.

Many families choose to keep their tribute fund open after the funeral as a lasting space to remember their loved one and mark important anniversaries and milestones.

Create a tribute fund

Many funeral directors can collect donations on behalf of EDS UK. If this is something you have arranged, please let us know so that we can thank you for your support and confirm the total amount donated in memory of your loved one.

Let us know

You may wish to include EDS UK pin badges or wristbands with the order of service. These items can help raise awareness of a cause that was important to your loved one and provide a meaningful way for family and friends to show their support.

If you have received cheque donations, please send them to us along with a note including the name of the person being remembered, the number of cheques enclosed, and the total amount donated. If you would like us to thank any donors personally, please also include their postal or email address. Cheques should be made payable to The Ehlers-Danlos Support UK and sent to: The Ehlers-Danlos Support UK, International House, 66 Lavender Hill, London, SW11 5RQ

Fundraise in memory

Taking on a fundraising challenge in memory can be a meaningful way to celebrate a life while supporting others affected by EDS and HSD. Whether you choose a cycle ride, run, trek, skydive or organise your own event, every fundraiser helps create a lasting legacy in their honour.

You can also connect your fundraising activity to a Tribute Fund, bringing together donations, memories and messages in one place to remember and celebrate your loved one.

“My sister passed away at 27 due to complications with vascular EDS. By taking on my first Ironman 70.3, which also was my first triathlon, I wanted to raise awareness of EDS and funds for those affected with this illness. I wanted to make my sister proud one more time.”

Inheritance Giving

Receiving an inheritance often prompts reflection on the values and legacy of the person who left it to you. Many people choose to donate part of their inheritance to charity as a way of honouring their loved one’s memory, whilst making a positive difference in the world. An inheritance gift can help fund life changing services, support future generations, and create lasting impact – allowing one act of generosity to inspire another.

Share a Memory, Celebrate a Life

The EDS UK Memory Wall is a place to honour and remember loved ones who were affected by Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS) or Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD). It offers a space for family and friends to come together to celebrate lives, share stories and keep precious memories alive.

We invite you to create a lasting tribute by sharing cherished photographs, heartfelt messages and special moments that capture the unique life and legacy of your loved one. Every dedication helps ensure their memory continues to inspire and be remembered.
