Malton

Mel
I am the Area Coordinator for EDS UK across the Thirsk and Malton region, where I support individuals affected by Ehlers‑Danlos syndromes and strengthen connections between families, clinicians, and community services.
I have a B.A. (Hons), a B.Ed, and an M.Ed specialising in Children’s Voice Pedagogical Training and Dalcroze Eurhythmics, and I am a Fulbright Scholar with over 30 years of professional experience across education, music‑learning frameworks, therapeutic practice, and community advocacy. My background includes work in music therapy, cross‑curricular development, and neurodiversity‑affirming communication, shaped in part by my family’s long-standing contribution to music therapy in the UK.
I will bring a structured, evidence‑informed approach to community support and I am known for my clarity, warmth, and ability to help people navigate health, social care, and institutional processes with confidence and dignity.
My work is grounded in a commitment to inclusive practice, creative communication, and empowering lived experience within the wider EDS community.
