Alice and Lorna

Hi I’m Alice and I’m delighted to be a volunteer in the Ceredigion Area Coordinator role.

I hope we can offer a supportive space and look forward to hearing from/meeting anyone local affected by EDS/HSD whether diagnosed or suspected. I am diagnosed with EDS,ITP, POTs and fibromyalgia.

I am very familiar with living with long term chronic illness, hospital stays etc since my teens (now in my mid-forties) and want to create a supportive and understanding environment for those in similar positions.

I also used to work in a hospital and am trained in complementary therapy so I have a lot of empathy for a range of conditions.

I am the sole parent of 1 child and keen to support other disabled parents and parents of EDS/HSD children, with awareness of the neuro-divergence which often accompanies EDS/HSD.

I am passionate about disability rights and equality and hope to learn more in my role as joint Ceredigion Coordinator.

Hi, I’m Lorna and I’m delighted to be your Ceredigion area coordinator.

I have hEDS, dysautonomia, MCAS and colonic inertia. Once diagnosed, everything began to fall into place and it’s been a whirlwind ever since!

I was born and raised in Aberystwyth and later moved to Leicester to start my nursing training. I qualified as a learning disability nurse and I have since specialised in mental health nursing. I know first hand the impact this chronic illness can have and I want to ensure that no one has to go through it alone.

I look forward to meeting my fellow local zebras in the not so distant future.
