My name is Cara and I’m the area coordinator for Milton Keynes. I’ve lived in the area for most of my life and would love to see a local group grow where the zebras in the community can gather!
I was diagnosed with hEDS in 2025 after many years of suspecting it. Everything seemed to fit in place like I’d been missing a piece of the puzzle for my whole life.
I’ve been a volunteer for various charities over the years, mostly in the animal welfare sector, and I continue to volunteer with exotic animals and wildlife rehabilitation. I currently work in Higher Education libraries with a specialism in knowledge & information management in arts, social sciences, and nursing/health.
In my spare time, I currently care for my many reptiles and two cats, and I’m excited to add working with EDS UK to form the local group to that list! I’m looking forward to meeting my many fellow zebras in the area and to develop us a safe, supportive space for us and our loved ones.
