Krissie
Hi, I am Krissie, and I became involved with EDS UK a few years back and I am grateful to the charity for all they have done for me. I have a lengthy list and mixed collection of health issues, alongside diagnoses of both Hypermobile EDS, HSD and JHS, because some medical minds (in my personal experience) can ever make their minds up what label they should use, which I am sure sounds very familiar to a lot of you…I like to think that even though there is often confusion with such matters, and our lists of labels and diagnosis vary between us, it is important for us all to support each other, to navigate such a confusing world, which can often be quite overwhelming for us all, and that is why I volunteer! I may come with a lot of diagnosis and have pretty much been ill since birth, and have experienced and continue to experience, many of the conditions and symptoms that come with having hypermobility, but I am determined to help anyone in any ways that I can, like I have been helped, and continue to be helped by wonderful people, so together we can make our worlds better places.
I have struggled since Covid times to start up face to face meetings again, for a number of reasons, but I am hoping this is soon to change, and I am excited to start putting plans into place. It has always been my aim to facilitate meetings with a fun and friendly atmosphere. Somewhere where we can support and encourage each other, discuss the many things on our minds, and be comfortable to share our experiences, our similarities, and our differences, ask questions and find answers together and most importantly bring smiles to each other’s faces!
