Leigh

Hi everyone, my name is Leigh.

I am living the experience of EDS and many other health issues associated with my diagnosis many of which impact my life substantially as welll as ADHD and chronic migraines.

My work has been varied from finance to working with those dealing with an Education Health Care Plan, through to a Party Wall Surveyor. Bearing in mind the challenges face, I am now deciding what I want to do when I grow up…

I have quite a few other family members with EDS (my dog escaped EDS) including my children, who aren’t overly pleased with it and see the toll it can have.

The path to diagnosis has been a long road and started at age 9 being told I was just hypermobile with no further information on the extensive implications it has. It has been a long time since I was 9 and there is still a lot to learn about the EDS journey.

Due to the invisibility of a lot of the issues experienced and lack of awareness, diagnosis path of the condition and so much more, I wanted to see what I could do to help anyone affected on this journey.

So here I am hoping to help in some way through the Banstead Support group.
